Long-Distance
I just told my roommate and her friend how humans are not made to be in long-distance relationships. I told them to avoid it at all costs. I told them that they are always a bad idea. I told them how stressful they are. I told them how committed one has to be. I told them how simple it would be for one of the people to cheat, and to break the other one’s heart. I told them how each person’s world evolves into something that the partner can no longer comprehend, let alone be a part of. I told them how arguments ensue for no reason other than the distance itself. I told them how lonely nights are.
They just looked at me, puzzled by cynical attitude.
“But you’re in a long-distance relationship.”
And you know what ?
I wouldn’t trade it for any short/typical/average/near-proximity-distance relationship in the world.
